Sunday 9/8 Update:
September 10th, 2007
Well, it’s been a really busy week. We just returned from Road Atlanta and it’s been wide open. The guys have been at the shop freshening everything up for Laguna. I’ve been working on really big sponsorship stuff for next year. One thing about working corporate America is things move slow. Those relationships are fostered over many months.
The guys from OnTheThrottle.tv arrived in town on Thursday night. We went out to eat at a great Thai place downtown by in the West Loop called Aroma. One thing about living in the city is there is an endless supply of great places to dine. Friday we were up early with business meetings all day and sitting in Chicago traffic. Friday night we headed to Blackhawk Farms raceway for video footage we set to shoot at a Sportbike Track Time trackday.more on that later. Scotty Ryan came out to ride Saturday and the “Team Owner” dusted off a new set of Komodo leathers and threw a leg over my 2006 GSXR1000. It was fun because I haven’t really ridden on the track in about a year and a half and went out and painted a few blackies on the track while filming. Man those Gixxer 1000’s are fast!
We headed home Saturday afternoon from the track and hit another Chicago favorite Giordano’s Pizza. After slipping into a food coma we were up bright and early for a promo event at Niles West High School for a youth football tournament that has about 5,000 people in attendance. It was a fun day talking with kids showing them our Suzuki racebikes, giving transporter tours to the kids and parents and speaking about bicycle safety. The semi leaves tomorrow afternoon for Laguna and the team will be catching up on stuff before we fly out Thursday.
Talk to you soon.
Cheers,
Kevin
